Assignments
Participation
Participation means that you come to class ready to participate having read the required reading with enough understanding to discuss with your peers and your instructor. A quality post makes visible your thinking and understanding of the material. A quality post is not simply an affirmation or acknowledgment of someone's post.
Needs Assessment
The needs assessment provides an opportunity for you to develop a better understanding of the needs of your target population. Specifically you will identify sources of data appropriate to your target population, summarize these data, and identify gaps (data that you wish you had but do not).
Program Plan
The program plan is a visual representation of the cyclic process of the program plan that begins with an identification of resources and continues through to program evaluation before the cycle feeds back onto itself. The logic model should include, at a minimum, a description of the situation, 3-4 inputs, 4-6 outputs in each category, 3 outcomes, and 1 goal. This assignment is due in two parts: a draft and a final version/smart chart.
Refection Paper
Respond to the following two questions: In what ways were the materials presented in this course similar and different from the way you have seen planning happen in “real” life? How was this class connected to other classes you have taken?
